General Description
Set foot on the shining white coral sand of Cocoa, and you feel
tempted to slip out of your shoes and into the crystal clear
waters of the lagoon. But then, our island chief and his
entourage are there to welcome you in full costume with a warm
smile. And before you can even think of a way to quench a
traveler's thirst, you find yourself enjoying a refreshing zip
of toddy, the juice made from coconut flower. This modest
ceremony is, indeed, a gesture of our legendary island
hospitality, intended to crown you queen and king of Cocoa
Beach.
Forget your deadlines and hectic schedules back home
The indoor hydrotherapy pool at Saima Spa is the ultimate
in water treatment at the first of its kind in the Maldives.
From bubbling water jet beds for a total underwater
massage, and varying jet showers for head to shoulder
treatment, to back, hip and foot massage stations, your
body experiences complete stimulation and relief.
Islanders today rely as much as in past ages, on highly
respected medicine men and women, the hakeems, who have
developed healing methods from contacts with Indians, Arabians,
Persians, Malaysians, Sri Lankans, and even as distant as the
Chinese, synthesizing their own herbal remedies. The basic
principle is that good health is the result of a proper balance
between the hot, cold, and dry 'humors' in the body and soul.
Cocoa's modern wellness facility, the Saima Spa, inspired by the
rich medical and therapeutic traditions of cultures around the
Indian Ocean, is your place to relax, refresh, and rejuvenate |

Accommodation
While Cocoa is your romantic kingdom, your palace is a
slender dhoni, a proud Maldivian fishing boat anchored in the
island's shallow lagoon, a mascot flag on its elegant bow
fluttering gaily in the breeze. Your suite is styled to a local
thatch house, furnished and decorated with refinement and a love
for detail. A fishing basket here, a hand woven reed mat with
intricate patterns there, the bed decorated with hibiscus
flowers... The thirty dhonis with their 'house boat' suites
moored proudly in their safe harbour, a row of fishing boats
waiting to set sail at sunrise.

resemble a traditional well. Or simply open the glass top of
your coffee table and watch the baby sharks while you feed them.
